As usual, sorry for not updating more, but I can assure you that not much is going on these days. I think I'm generally less happy than I've been in years, but let's not dwell on that! Let's go to the news, because they're the good kind!
First of all, I got a mail from the Kemi-people (that's the all Scandinavian comic contest I entered a while back), saying that I got 4.th place!
I didn't even know they had a 4.th XD But I'm really happy!
It doesn, unfortunately mean, that I won't be able to post "Skinnene Synger" (The Tracks are singing ?:P) for you here, which is really a shame, 'cause it's probobly one of the best comics I ever have and ever will make, at least theme-and story vice.
But! it does mean that it will be printed in something called the Kemi competition anthology, and also I will receive some tax free mooneys (゜▽、゜)
Maybe it'll be translated into english, I don't know. One of the criteria was that the series be in a Nordig language, but the price ceremony or whatever is in Finland.
Too bad it would cost me most of my prize money to go, I've never been to Finland before.
Second, this:
No news really, just a drawing I finished yeasterday that I was quite happy with. Since it's kind of small for my exhibition in May (A4), I think I'll bring it to Desu-con (anime convention) this year, if we do realize our plans of having a stand there this year. We meaning Cat and I.
Third, this:
Also just a drawing I finished that I wanted to show off. God I love pencils! Why did I kind of forget how fabulous pencils are, all by themselves!?
This picture is A3, and I am planning to bring to the exhibition, though I'm not sure the general art people in my part of the country are into this kind of thing.
I've been hung up on twisted angels, right. Still am ^^ And I tried to incorporate it with visual kei, but I realized it's kind of hard, since I'm not much into the classic visual kei anymore. I was really happy with it anyway though.
Last post on the agenda today, and this is something you might actually be interested in :p
I finally got around to making a blog for Like Totally Teenage Lovers!
The plan was to make it in Comicpress, but the fact is that I'm an idiot when it comes to computers, and even following the tutorials I couldn't make it happen, so until I have the time to sit down and have friend teach me the knacks, it will be another blogspot blog:
http://liekttly.blogspot.com
Followers and comments are very much apreciated! Also, tell all your friends, ofcourse :p
I also changed the posting date to Tuesday, by the way. That's the same day that I update the original(Norwegian) comic, so it'll be a bit more routine...ish.
So! See ya! Got tons to do right now^o^/

Send me your story!
I've been drawing this over the last two days. It's A3, so it took quite some time! It's going to be a piece of an even larger collage.
When people see things like this the first thing they mention is usually the hair.
If you havn't noticed I have a lot of fun with drawing hair, especially cursly hair. The thing about this kind of drawing is that it's not really hard, it just takes a lot of time. I usually come away surprised when I'm finished, because it looks really cool, and I didn't really sweat that much^^
Two other things!
Bobla, which is a collection by the Oslo comicers group I'm in, is now out in stores! I hope lots of people will buy it!
It is a collection of independent 1 to 10 pages stories, all made by amature artists, and it's really good!I need to start paying more attention to the other comicers around me!
Anyway, for the next issue, they urge us to do collaborations. In other words, the story and the drawings will be done by different people. I've never done this before, and I'm not really sure I'm going to have the time to submit anything, but I want to try.
So, I'm asking you to send me your story!
If you have something that you feel would make a good 1 to 10 pages comic, send it to me. I won't laugh at you or critisize you, unless I'm interested, then I might send suggestions and questions. If I decide to draw your story your name will, ofcourse be on the credits, and if you're not a Norwegian speaker I will also do an English version and post it here^^
My mail adress is hoshifune @ gmail . com
(without the spaces, ofcourse ^^) anything is welcome!

Stitch it up
So, back from a quick trip to Paris to see Mucc. I'll write about that sometime, but I am SO tired right nowXD Can't sleep though, have stuff I want to do.
But anyway, here's one of the pictures I drew the last days in Japan/airplane/the night I got back home.

Was inspired by a guy we passed on the street in Shibuya, he had snakebites on the upper lip and we started talking about if Cat had a guy like that they would "complete" each other XD Since she's got a piercing in the middle of the top lip (have no idea what that's called). So I took it a step futher and called it "Stitch".

Desperate love scenes :p
While I was in Osaka I also suddenly got the urge to draw again. I never really go long without having some spontanious outbursts of wanting to pull out a sketch pad, but a lot of the time I'm just not carrying a sketch pad or I don't have the time.
But when we were in Osaka I suddenly had some inspiration, and a feeling that really lingered that the time had come to sit down with pencil and paper again. I love that feeling^^

So I bought this, which is really really cheap, and it's not so bad either. The paper is a bit thick for my taste ('cause I rub out alot of my lines), and it's not something to use for creating a master piece, but it totally works on a slightly less ambitious level^^
Ofcourse, I don't have any scans, but thought I'd post them anyway and post proper scans later. First there's this:

My god, I really do draw huge ass heads!XD
And since I made the jacket blend in with the background the body looks even smaller. I really like the idea (so might make another BETTER verson of this, or not?), though it's not really clear. I first thought about the word rib cage, and the bird in the left cage (maybe his heart?) was let loose and died, but it's really up for entepretation.
I posted it with no explenation at all on my norwegian blog, and my friend Jacq said that she thought of the canarys used to detect poisonous gas in the old mines, and that the cages were like his lungs, so maybe he should really stop smoking XD
It's called "katakoi". Kind of like "hardened love", it sounds stupig :p
The other one I made was this.

Details:

I made it thinking that being in love always looks so nice from the outside, and you always want to be in love when you're not. But then you fall in love and all the uncertainty and dark feelings come out too.
Yeah, I don't think it's a coincidence that this inspiration came to me when I was in Osaka and felt I was kind of isolating mylef from what I should be doing...:p
Guess you can expect more of the emo when I come back to Norway. At least it turns into pictures^^

Black and white ball? I guess I didn't get the memo.
For a long time now I havn't had the time to do any art except my comic and the illustrations, but now that my boss has suddenly deciced that I'll only be working two and three days a week (it is my last month after all), I figured I'd indulge myself today.
It's like my inspirations dries up if I don't get to draw the things in my mind for a period of time. And I lose the energy I need to be able to finish something.
Today I made a collague! I can't remember the last time I did that! It was a lot of fun, but also quite time craving.
I found ONE newspaper on the floor in the kitchen, and I used it for what it was worth ^^
Turns out the sports section is in pink (I wouldn't know because I never read it, obviously), and that was just what I needed!
Since the last thing I scanned was a comic, the settings were on black and white when I turned it on, so completely randomly I discovered that this peace looks pretty cool in black and white.
I called it "Melk", which means milk in Norwegian, mostly 'cause I didn't have an idea for a title. Now I'm making birthday cards ^^
